Spain’s love for pizza is turning into a full-blown competition this month as ‘Pizza Combat’, a unique culinary showdown, lands in San Sebastián de los Reyes. From May 15 to June 1, 2025, pizza chefs from across the country are going head-to-head in what’s being called the most entertaining food battle of the year.
A Fight for Flavor in the Arena
Held inside a massive, custom-built arena inspired by a wrestling ring — complete with 7-meter-high ceilings and over 600 square meters of space — 18 pizzerias from ten Spanish regions are competing for the crown: “Champion of the Community of Madrid.”
Each pizzeria presents its best pizza recipe to the public, who can vote digitally via QR code based on taste, originality, and presentation. The event blends culinary artistry with competitive spirit in a festive, high-energy environment.
Kronos Pizza Represents Madrid
The local pride of Madrid, Kronos Pizza, was chosen through a popular vote that saw over 20,000 people participate. Known for its modern spin on Italian classics, Kronos is serving up bold flavors and creative toppings in its bid to take home the title.
